Do you need to finish your Daily Doodle every day?

Do you need to finish your Daily Doodle every day?

When I came up with the idea to start a Daily Doodle Book, I did not intend to date each page and make it into a journal of sorts - but that is what I have been doing since early January. I also did not intend to ‘FINISH’ the doodle every day - but that is what I have been TRYING to do since early January, though I rarely finish them.

You do not have to date your pages and you absolutely do not have to finish them - in fact - I would strongly suggest you NOT do it like this. Just get into the habit of doodling or drawing or spending some time with creativity every day - even if just for a little bit.

Today, we had a school trip from the Explore Empower Charter School - and I wrote the word “Explore” across the full spread on My Daily Doodle book. Then I asked the kids to draw hearts all over the page. Now, I am doing my linework hatching to color-in the background - and it’s going to take a long time to complete this.

I am trying to give myself permission to stop dating the pages -and just doodle for a little bit each day. That way, I take the pressure off on finishing - and I can just focus on doodling which always relaxes me.
