Do you Need your own Doodle Book?

Do you Need your own Doodle Book?

Journaling, doodling & starting a sketchbook is something I’ve been obsessed with my whole life. ‘Starting’ is the operative word. Hundreds of sketchbooks, that is an accurate guess of how many I’ve started. A handful of sketchbooks, that is an accurate number of how many I’ve finished.

Self-diagnosed with ADHD - starting a sketchbook was one of those things that filled me with energy - the promise of something new and exciting. Weeks, maybe even a few months - this is about how long I would stick with any particular sketchbook. So, whenever a parent asks me if I think their child should have their own sketchbook - I usually say NO - just give them some paper and let them prove they’ll stick with it before you spend the money. BUT - then I remember that unbelievable feeling I get when I start a brand new sketchbook.

Now, in my 6th year of Little Pulp and my 50th year on the planet - I’ve put a lot of effort into creating this My Daily Doodle Book project/product. I’m committed to sticking with it and committed to keeping my promise of posting to this blog daily.

Doodling in this book is lots of fun and very relaxing.
Taking these pics and writing these blog posts - fun - but not necessarily relaxing - and let me tell you, it’s awfully time consuming BUT - I’m gonna do it - because I feel so strongly that kids (and you) should doodle or draw or write or journal every day, even if just for a few minutes - unplug/unwind and be alone with your thoughts - put your thoughts into written form or simply scribble scrabble a bit - like I did today - see below.

So, yes - a resounding yes - you should get your child their own doodle book. Should you get them our Daily Doodle Book? Well, we’d love it if you did, and if you followed along with us as we doodle daily - but you could just as easily grab a simple and cost-effective sketchbook and see how it goes.

Happy Doodling -until tomorrow…
