Friday Night Bubble Letter Name-cards

Friday Night Bubble Letter Name-cards

A daily doodle commitment can be difficult, especially when you are very busy - as we are on weekends.

Usually, on a Friday evening, I am hand-lettering Bubble Letter Name-cards for the weekend’s events. So, I’ve decided to make these part of my daily doodling. For every birthday party and every workshop, we create Bubble-letter Name-cards for all the kids that attend. The kids use markers to ‘color-in’ their cards and we use the cards to keep their artwork organized on our printing press. After the event, the kids have the option to take their card home or put it on our “name-card wall” (more on that in another blog). Making these bubble letter name cards for all these years - and seeing how much the kids love coloring them in - helped me come up with the idea for the “My Daily Doodle Book” product.

I blocked out the March 3rd graphic using my 0.8 LePen Technical Drawing Pen, purchased from Blick Art Materials. There are better black ink drawing pens on the market - but this one is super affordable and we have lots of them in the shop. So, anyway - when I started my daily doodle this morning, my intention was to work on the “Awesome-ness” sticker that I’ve been tinkering with -BUT- I spent a lot of time hand-lettering the name cards for tomorrow morning’s birthday party and working on the custom sketchbook for the afternoon party.
